How select right development company
Lets talk about your contractors.
You can choose one of two forms:
- FreeLancers
Pluses:
- Low cost
Minuses:
- They can stop development if someone got best price.
- They always working hard before release/milestone.
- Software development companies
Pluses:
- They report about working progress at least each week.
- They garantee work by contract
- They sign non-disclosure agreement
Minuses:
- high price (at least 2 times than freelancer)
But anyway, you choose one of these two forms.
Don't start paid the money.
You should have specification for your project, this specification is basis for futurer work.
Ask your selected developer/firm for preluminary estimation.
Main question: How many hours and what is cost of one hour?
Second question: Ask for previous project samples.
Third question: Ask for references.
These 3 answers should take you clear with selected firm/developer.
Call/Email to reference(s).
Take look on samples.
Compare two or more offers.
Sign contract (if need).
Ask for time line work plan (MS Project is very good for this task).
Ask for report/alpha/beta versions each week.
Ask for penalty in case poor work, overtime etc.
